PERMANENT COMMITTEE ON GIS INFRASTRUCTURE FOR ASIA AND THE PACIFIC (PCGIAP)

PCGIAP

A group aiming to improve the quality of the geographic information system (GIS) in Asia and the Pacific. It was established in 1995 as an outcome of the United Nations Regional Cartographic Conference for Asia and the Pacific held in Beijing in 1994. Members of the group are the national agencies concerned with geographical information in the United Nations member countries in Asia and the Pacific. There is a Permanent Committee elected by the member countries. Working Groups cover Geodesy Technologies and Applications, Geospatial Data Management and Service, and Spatially Enabled Government and Society.
